How is my website hosted?
Your website runs on Cloudflare Pages, the same infrastructure that powers roughly 20% of the internet. It's not running on a laptop in someone's living room. Your site loads fast from servers all over the world, and it's protected by enterprise-grade security automatically.
What that means for you: your site is fast, secure, and reliable without you having to think about it. There's no server to manage, no software to update, no security patches to worry about. All of that is included in your monthly fee.
What do I own?
You own your business. Your website reflects that.
Your domain name is registered in your name. Always. Your content (text, photos, logos, business information) belongs to you. Your structured data, the behind-the-scenes code that helps Google and AI tools understand your business, is yours. Your Google Business Profile remains under your control.
BeargrassAI retains the custom design templates and tools used to build and maintain your site. Think of it like hiring a contractor to build a deck: you own the deck, they own their tools.
What if I want to cancel?
You can cancel anytime with 30 days written notice. When you do, you get a complete export package:
- All your website files: the actual code, images, everything
- All structured data files
- Documentation that any web developer can read and work with
- Your DNS records so your domain keeps pointing where it should
Any prepaid monthly fees are refunded on a prorated basis. Setup fees are non-refundable, because the work was already done.
No guilt trip. No hostage situation. It's your stuff and you take it with you.
Can another web person take over my site?
Yes. That's by design.
Your site is built with standard web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript. It's not locked into a proprietary system where only we can touch it. Any competent web developer in the valley or anywhere else could pick it up and maintain it.
The structured data and AI optimization work is built on open standards (Schema.org). Another developer inherits a clean, well-organized site, not a mess they have to decode.
You could also move to a platform like Squarespace or WordPress if you wanted. The content transfers.
Is this too techy for me?
No. That's the whole point.
You don't need to learn how any of the technology works. You run your business. We handle the technical side. If your hours change, your pricing changes, or you add a new service, you tell us and we update everything. Your website, your structured data, your chatbot if you have one. You don't touch code. You don't log into dashboards.

What's the bear plan?
The real question: what happens if something happens to Mark?
Your site will not disappear. Here's why:
Your website runs on Cloudflare, not on any single person's computer. It doesn't need anyone to keep running day-to-day. If BeargrassAI stops operating, planned or unplanned, three things happen:
- Your site stays live. Cloudflare keeps it running automatically.
- You get your complete export package: all files, all data, all documentation.
- 60 days of transition support to get you or your new provider set up.
BeargrassAI maintains a continuity document with all client account information stored securely, accessible to a designated continuity contact. Your site doesn't depend on one person being available.
We're a small local business too. We take the question seriously because we know what's at stake.
How much does it cost?

Setup fees are due at project start. Monthly fees begin when the site goes live. No contracts: you stay because it's working, not because you're locked in.
How do I pay?
Monthly fees are due on the 1st of each month. We accept payment via Stripe. If life gets in the way, there's a 15-day grace period followed by a friendly reminder. We don't send your account to collections over a late month. We pick up the phone and talk to you like a neighbor.
What if we disagree about something?
We talk. That's step one and it solves almost everything.
If talking doesn't do it, either of us puts the concern in writing. The other person has 14 days to respond. If we still can't work it out, we try mediation with someone local before anything else.
No surprises. We don't make changes to your live site without your knowledge. Major changes require your approval. Routine maintenance and security updates are handled automatically under your service agreement.
What's AIEO? Do I need to understand it?
AIEO stands for AI Engine Optimization. It's the work we do to make sure your business shows up when people ask AI tools (Siri, ChatGPT, Google, and others) for recommendations.
You don't need to understand how it works. You just need to know that it's happening. The short version: we make sure the machines that are increasingly deciding who gets recommended can actually read and understand your business information. Most websites aren't set up for that. We fix it.
