How it works
Cards at the counter, with the deposit already counted.
Live at a real business's counter. The screens on this page are from a sample day.
- Ring up a sale. A guest's online deposit comes off before tax.
- Cards on your reader: tap, chip or swipe. Tips are available.
- Cash, with the change due on the screen.
- Receipts by email, offered on the reader.
- Today's bookings, made online or by phone, in one view.
- Refunds, whole or part, back to the card. Only you can give them.
- The day's takings, added up at close.
The counter needs an internet connection to take cards.
Nothing is saved to send later, so a card is never declined after the customer has gone. A reliable connection at your counter is part of every Commerce conversation.

The price
4.6% + 30¢ on each card payment, on domestic cards.
4.6% for the 406.
The same rate at the counter and online, and your customer pays nothing extra. Cards from other countries cost more, and that extra is passed through. Cash carries no fee.
The card reader is yours: you buy it, and it's registered to your own Stripe account.
The setup and the quote are worked out together, in a conversation.
